Precision Cut Synthetic Fibres
 
Polyester fibre is a very strong and stable manmade fibre that is widely used in many industries.
Short cut Polyester is resistant to stretching and shrinking and perhaps more importantly for industrial applications it is resistant to abrasion and acid degradation. Polyester has a relatively high specific gravity, leading to it dispersing well in water and a relatively high melting point making it a good all round choice for a variety of applications.
Precision short cut polyester fibres are available in a range of lustres including bright, semi-dull, and dull. The end use and customer preference/specification will influence the final selection. It should be noted that the lustre does not affect the performance of the fibre.
Grades available include Bright/ Semi- dull Lustre Super Bright.

Lead Acid Batteries
Precision cut fibers of between 3mm to 12mm length are commonly used by manufacturers of Lead Acid Batteries to reinforce the lead oxide paste used in “pasted plate” type battery construction. Short cut fibres are suitable for all types of plate grid construction, including cast grids, continuous cast grids, expanded metal grids, belt-pasting machines and orifice-pasting machines. Precision Cut Fibres for the Lead Acid Battery industry must conform to individual manufacturers specifications but in general the fibres should be thermally stable, acid resistant, contain trace levels (ppm) of heavy metals and radicals and be easily dispersed in powders and/or liquids.
